Christmas Day is Logan's Birthday! Happy 5th!!!

Christmas morning this year was probably the best ever! I think at age 5 they really "get it"! That or Logan is just totally over-animated and excited than ever! Here he is on the stairs as he sees all the presents under the Christmas tree.... It means Santa actually did come in the night!

Opening his first Birthday present! Can you just see the joy and excitement in his facial expressions?! This is pretty much how excited he was opening each and every gift he got! I LOVED it! It was the best!

Kira on the other hand wasn't as excited as Logan. We had to make her open present after present because all she really liked and cared about was the Princess dress up trunk she got and her pink computer. Everything else she was just like "blah, blah, blah".

Here she is trying out her new pink computer. She had asked Santa for a computer because she see's me on the computer "working" all the time and she wants to be able to "work" with me!

The living room was a MESS! I hate messes but it was Christmas so it was "ok".

Did I tell you she LOVED them or what?! She didn't even get to wear her Christmas dress this day because she wanted to wear her dress up dress. She wore it thru the day crown and all and even to the park! She would of slept in it if I let her!

She is ADDICTED to shoes, dress up shoes and high heels! She always wants to wear high heels everywhere we go, even the park and I have to explain to her that high heels and the park don't go together, LOL!

After we had Christmas dinner with my parents and Vic's Dad we had to celebrate Logan's 5th Birthday! I can't believe my little guy is FIVE yrs old already! How the heck did that happen? I must say it's really nice having 2 "older" children but I do still miss the "baby" days!

The Birthday boy had asked me to make him a chocolate Transformers cake. Here is the Giant Cupcake that I made for him. He thought it was GREAT!

After he blew out the candles they re-lit themselves and he was afraid at first (magic candles). He was starting to freak out but then he and Kira had so much fun blowing them out again and again and again!

Here they are cracking up because the dang candles keep re-lighting themselves no matter how many times they blow them out!

Christmas Eve 2009

Our Christmas Eve nights always start out with matching pajamas! Every year I get the kids matching boy/girl pajamas! I love it, they look so cute! Although I've come to realize Logan is a big boy for these tight fitting pajamas. Next year I'll have to find something a little different or age appropriate for him. :)


Unfortunately I had to work all day on Christmas Eve! It was such a bummer because I knew I had sooo many things that needed to be done and I was jealous that Vic got to be home with the kids. He was such a good husband this day. He cleaned the house because we were having family over on Christmas Day. He also managed to put together the Gingerbread house with the kids. I think they did an excellent job! Sad I missed it but not that sad to have missed the mess!

Cookies and Milk laid out for Santa Claus or as the kids call him lately "SC" (they've watched the Santa Claus movie one too many times). They both helped me make chocolate chip cookies (the roll kind... it was already 9:30pm!) and write Santa a note. This is a tradition we've been doing every year. Logan adores it and loves the thought of Santa coming down the chimney, eating his goodies and then leaving all the presents!

Then at 10:00pm on Christmas Eve I had to bake a Birthday cake for Logan. I could of bought one to make things easier on me but decided to just bake one. I got one of those Wilton giant cupcake pans and decorated it accordingly to what my soon to be FIVE yr old wanted. He ordered white cake with chocolate frosting and Transformers.... "Ta-Da"! I delivered!

Disney on Ice!

This afternoon we went to the Disney on Ice show at the Honda Center. We had never been before and I thought it would be a fun Holiday/Wintery activity to do with the kids. We got there early because they said there was a Pre-Princess show. Of course Kira our little princess would have to see it. It was a bit disappointing because there was no "show" but just displays of all the popular Disney Princess' dresses....

One good thing was that Cinderella was actually there waving to the crowd! Kira was soooo excited especially since Cinderella is her current favorite. She was a little "mad" in the beginning since she saw other little girls dressed in their princess dresses and Kira wasn't (she got over it).

Popcorn was $12, Snowcones were $12, Hot Dogs were $5-$6, Pretzels were $5 and they have LOTS of fun light up toys that are $20 or more to entice your child! Luckily my kids didn't care much after the 1st or 2nd "No" to them. If it weren't for Vic I'd probably end up buying all of that for my kids just because they wanted it. I am such a softy, a sucker, a spoiler to them!

The show opened up with Disney's "Cars"! It was pretty cool to see all the "Car's" characters talking and driving around on the ice.

"The Little Mermaid" was probably all of our favorites of the day. Here's Ariel skating on TWO legs!

"The Lion King" (We were all a bit bored with this one.... maybe because the kids and Vic have never watched the movie so they didn't know the story).

The show ended with "Tinkerbell and the Lost Treasure". The kids enjoyed this one as well since this is a current movie favorite of theirs. It was a nice chilly day to get out as a family and do something together. The holidays are fun but still so stressful! Can't wait for the new year and to get to go back to visit Disneyland many, many, many times! :)

Update: My Parent's New Home

Here's the updated house! Looks like a HOME right?! It's really nice and big inside... 2 stories and double the square footage and more rooms! We are so excited to actually get in there but not as excited as my parent's will be! They are expecting to move in by the end of January 2010 sometime so it's coming fast!

Christmas Lights!!!

Now this is a Brother & Sister moment if I've ever seen one! Here they are being so quite and watching a movie together as I cooked dinner. Isn't it so cute how cuddly they are... Kira lying on Logan's lap and Logan holding his sister?! I'll have to show them this picture when they are teenagers trying to "kill" each other!


For some reason they wanted to pose with the Christmas stockings and Santa's that are on our fireplace. Silly little kids!


We finally went to look at the Christmas lights around East Lake. We do this every year since it's right next to our house (even though last year we went after Christmas). The kids look all bundled up for snow yet it really wasn't even that cold out, LOL! It was the effect we wanted though!




I must say it was beautiful but we could totally see that it's a lot less spectacular than last year or the years before. I wondered why and Vic reminded me of the economy so I guess so???







After Christmas lights we decided to go get ice cream. They didn't really deserve ice cream because they were acting up earlier but Mom wanted some so that meant we were going! On the way there we past by Logan's preschool and he got to see his school with their Christmas lights on. He was so excited and Kira says, "Wow, it's AMAZING"! I've never heard her say that before so we started cracking up laughing because it sounded so cute! Then we went to Rite Aid and got Thrifty's ice cream. I haven't gotten ice cream there in soooo many years. My ice cream was just "ok" but the kids sure enjoyed it!
